sometimes in the brain of a fan things are different
If you have not yet watched the trailer for The Bourne Legacy go ye forth! In my head this is the Clint Barton/Hawkeye backstory or origins film that we have been asking for and we may be getting an actual Black Widow film as well, yay!

Although this is causing me a bit of trouble, such as in this twitter chat today with a friend who has finally seen the Avengers:

FRIEND: Only just started? Damn! RT"@RobDowneyJrIMDB: Robert Downey Jr. Starts Filming Iron Man 3 http://eonli.ne/JP4AI3"
ME: Alas. BUT Iron Man 3, Thor 2, Captain America 2, possibly Black Widow origins, and Bourne Legacy (= Hawkeye origins, OKAY)
FRIEND: I want them now :-(
FRIEND: p.s. Bourne Legacy is about Hawkeye #confused
ME: Bourne Legacy stars Jeremy Renner, who plays Clint Barton/Hawkeye. I swear it’s a Hawkeye origins film.
ME: It is a fan thing, okay? I want all the fan things in which Bourne Legacy is Clint's background because they will be amazing.
FRIEND: Ah, ok, so its not *actually* a Hawkeye film, just in your mind? Lol #gotmyhopesup
ME: Cowboys & Aliens=James Bond, Indiana Jones, & 13 (House) on holiday. Am not always watching the same thing as everyone else.

feeling: determined

I NEED A BLACK WIDOW MOVIE. NOW. LIKE, THIS VERY SECOND.

Seriously, if it doesn't end up happening I'll be so pissed. Especially if they make a movie for another male Avenger from the comics instead.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who saw the trailer for Bourne Legacy and thought 'OMG, Hawkeye origins movie!' I kept imagining Black Widow at crucial moments. ;) And as always, RENNER, WHY ARE YOU SO DAMN HOT?

I have such a fictional crush on Clint right now. I just wrote Clint fic and had way too much fun writing it (although it's not a happy fic... I have a weird brain). Favourite is still Natasha, though.

SECONDED!

They've already made films for all the guys apart from Hawkeye and Natasha has one of the most fascinating backstories really, so I fail to see why we can't have it. There is demand. We've had Electra and bad superheroine films. I want a good one. Joss Whedon, get on it!

Hehe, Rachel is actually Black Widow in disguise ;) Seriously, in my head he gets taken out of the military into this, then ends up with SHEILD, then meets Natasha. OR he's stolen from SHIELD before they're actually SHIELD and strong enough to hold onto him yet, but he's already meet Natasha and even though nothing has happened between them yet SHE OWES HIM A DEBT and secretly is all behind the scenes of the Legacy film. Damn my brain...

See, this is what I miss when I take a break from reading fic for a bit! Must. Read.

Unfortunately the lesson Hollywood seemed to take from the failure of Catwoman and Elektra is "Don't make movies about superheroines,' not "Don't make movies that suck." :( I really hope the Black Widow movie gets done well and she's awesome and well developed like in The Avengers, not fanservice like Iron Man 2.

Clint has taken over mind right now. I've got one Clint fic ('World On Fire') and I have a feeling there will be more. Because Clint and Natasha are awesome, individually and together.

Yep, seems to be :( I rewatched Iron Man 2 last night and whilst I loved the kicking ass scene that Natasha has whilst Happy comedically gets just one baddies, the rest of the time she just...isn't really there? Pepper gets to have a strong-ish role, but I have no feels for Natasha in Iron Man 2.

There was one exchange between Natasha and Tony that after Avengers stood out, but without Avengers meant little to me. I think maybe a lot of Black Widow in Iron Man 2 would have come across better for me if I were more familar with her in comics, but still. Scene:

Tony Stark: God you're good. You are mind blowingly close to this. How do you do it? You're a triple impostor, I've never seen anything like it. Is there anything real about you? Do you even speak Latin?
Natalie Rushman: Fallaces sunt rerum species. ("The appearances of things are deceptive." )
Tony Stark: Which means? Wait, what did you just say?
Natalie Rushman: It means you can either drive yourself home or I can have you collected.

This is driving me to have thoughts now, heh.
