Images are mostly from promotional material and then there's...um, A LOT of quote icons. I could just keep on making loads of these, but i'm cutting myself off. Until we get screencaps at least, heh. But if there's any of your favourite quotes that I've missed shout out and I'll add those! And because there's quote icons, HERE BE SPOILERS, but I figure it's been a month? But still, no spoilers for major plot points. (She says. Yell at me if I'm wrong.)

Here's the deal: these images are promotional images, trailer images, stuff that if you've been on the internet you've probably seen before the film, however if you've been hiding from spoilers they may spoil you for characters that're in it. There are also quote icons. There's nothing that i'd call a major plot point spoiler (unless you don't know who the Winter Soldier is), but plenty that I'd call minor ones. So. If you don't want any kind of spoilers at all, don't look. And if you're using these? I'd appreciate it if you'd play nice with the quote ones, where you use them (like maybe for discussion posts or comment replies in posts that warn for spoilers), until the film's been out a bit longer. (I know, if that's something that bothers me I shouldn't make icons yet, but THIS FILM.)

And if you have any other images or can recall any more quotes (i'm particularly interested in Natasha quotes and amusing quotes, but my wording isn't accurate enough) then I'd really like to icon them *flutters eyelashes hopefully*.

My usual free online image editor, Picmonkey, no longer likes the version of Safari that I'm using, so for icons 25-41 I was experimenting with another free online image editor, BeFunky. For icon making I like quick, easy to use editors. Verdict: very similiar to Picmonkey for basic icons, although a bit more awkward to resize. Anyway, here be icons.

This week the first issue of the new Black Widow comic was released! There's a discussion post with spoilers over at be_compromised here, but basically I LOVE the art and I have high hopes for the story.

I also found out that there's a new run of Serenity comics happening! Serenity: Leaves on the Wind seems to be a continauation of events after the film and the other tie-in comics we've had so far. First issue is out at the end of January and, oh my heart, the cover art looks amazing.

So today's icon post is brought to you by a love of comics art, and a healthy dose of 'oh, I forgot I had all these Agents of SHIELD and other random ones in my icon folder'.

PS. As a general rule, when I make icons from comics art I get the art from the artist's own websites, promotional images, or other stuff posted online. Sometimes I manage to scan stuff, but that means a trip to someone that actually has a scanner. So if anyone wants icons of specific comic art, just a heads up that if you scan it yourself and send me the image or link me to it I would be more than happy to play with the pretties :)

I know the reveals have only just gone up, but I like having everything archived and there's a few mistakes I've spotted on the original post, which I can't edit, that have been making me twitch *grins*, so here's the fic and accompanying graphics that I gifted to sugar_fey for be_compromised's Secret Santa 2012 exchange. I highly recommended taking a look at the masterlist, because there's a whole heap of wonderful over there :D

Summary: Fic with accompanying collage of graphics/manipulations and icons for the prompt 1930s dustbowl AU. Clint and Natasha are members of a travelling circus. Dark/supernatural elements a la Carnivale optional but very welcome. Thanks to this prompt I am now watching Carnivale, but I’m not familiar enough to use the supernatural elements from it… so I made up my own.
Authors Notes: Title taken from the song ‘Nature of Dust’ by Laura Marling. This site covers all of the circus slang used in the fic. I’ve aimed for historical accuracy, except for use of fire poi – my research suggests that wasn’t really around until the early 1960s, but the character that performs with it is well travelled and innovative, and I really wanted to use it ;)
