I come bearing fic! Which is to say I finally managed to finish the third installment in the 'Natsha is a demon' AU series. Which means I can also post parts four and five, which I'd finished first because apparently that's how I roll.

With thanks to [personal profile] franztastisch for beta reading all of these :)

Title: Natasha
Word Count: 5790
Rating and Warnings: Teen and Up; demons eat (dead) people, violence, swearing, blood, and words of power
Summary: A demon learns about words and definitions and names. The beginning of wisdom is to call things by their proper name – Confucius

Title: tangled webs we weave
Word Count: 1153
Rating and Warnings: Teen and Up; lies
Summary: Rumours are spreading about Natasha and she needs a cover story. It’s possibly Clint’s fault. What a tangled web we weave when first we practise to deceive – Walter Scott

Title: unconventional tokens of affection
Word Count: 2283
Rating and Warnings: Teen and Up; dead people, body parts (none of which are consumed or eaten during the course of this fic!), weapons, swearing, and frustration over miscommunication
Summary: No one had warned Clint to be wary of demons bearing gifts.

I watched Captain Marvel last Friday. Non-spoiler reaction is that I LOVED it. There's so much to enjoy, the characters are fantastically well done, and while I agree with some comments that it's not the best scripted film in the MCU it's still up there! There's a fun chat about the film happening here.

I had no idea that when I came out I would want ALL THE GOOSE FIC, but that happened. So I committed one of my own:

Title: Trust Exercise
Rating/Warnings: Teen and up, none
Word count: 1059 words
Summary: Five times (of many) that Fury trusts Goose to show him when someone is an ally (or not). ***SPOILERS FOR CAPTAIN MARVEL***
Author Note: with thanks to [personal profile] franztastisch for beta reading :)

And here's some recs for others I've read so far - BEWARE, HERE BE CAPTAIN MARVEL SPOILERS:

So I wrote a Clint Barton thing for Infinity War, trying to get a bit of it out of my head. I think there's probably going to be a pile of fics in a similiar vein, but I haven't read any IW fics yet. I've been reading and re-reading older fic later instead. Although if someone has written minor IW spoiler ) yet or any other filling in the gaps or anything hopeful, I'd love recs.

Title: State Your Emergency
Rating/Warnings: Teen and Up (f-word level swearing, non-graphic injury, emotions - full warnings with spoilers in the end note on AO3)
Word Count: 2800
Summary: A post-post credit Clint Barton scene for Infinity War. SPOILERS.
Author Note: with thanks to [personal profile] alphaflyer for beta reading and telling me to include more angst!

I'm mulling over some possible short fics for the be_compromised Valentine's mini promptathon, but here's a threesome fic I've been working on since Christmas for [profile] meatball42:

Title: In Deed
Pairing/Characters: Bucky/Clint/Natasha with Liho and Lucky
Rating/Warnings: Teen and Up (contains a bad mental health day that gets better)
Word Count: 4860
Author Note: Something happier for [profile] meatball42 since my Secret Santa gift was a bit angsty. With thanks to [personal profile] franztastisch for beta reading <3
Summary: Bucky is having a bad day. Lucky and Liho help. So do Clint and Natasha.

First fic I have finished in 2018! Let's just ignore the fact that I've been working on it since the summer of 2016 shall we...

Title: A Funny Thing Happened On The Way Back From The Hospital
Pairing/Characters: Clint Barton & Wade Wilson, background Clint/Laura and Clint & Nat
Rating/Warnings: 15/Mature (for Deadpool levels of violence and swearing, also potential trigger warnings for *Deadpool explains consent suggesting possible off-screen non-con or dub-con may have happened, Deadpool takes unknown drugs, a scene is set in a morgue where there are dead bodies - no graphic description, guns, swords, bad guys die, I'm making this sound really fun aren't I?*
ALSO there is BANTER and SASS, and Clint and Deadpool being bros.)
Word Count: 7900
Author Note: Huge thanks to [personal profile] alphaflyer and [personal profile] franztastisch for beta reading! Fic happens near the start of ten times as long (to put yourselves back together), but can be read as a standalone post-Infinity War fic.
Summary: Aliens happen (again) and Clint ends up in hospital (again). What happens between that and Clint joining the others who’re re-grouping at the New Avengers Facility? The short answer is Deadpool.

“You’re not rescuing me,” Clint tells him. “I don’t need to be rescued. Nat is coming to pick me up at one. I’m good, thanks.”

Later he’ll wonder if it was the ‘thanks’ that was his undoing.

I wrote a thing! For franzi's and gecko's friends write for each other - the reckoning exchange - damn good fics, take a look.

Mine is a Clint Barton at the end of Fraction & Aja & Team's comics run fic and my first time writing a threesome - Clint/Natasha/Bucky.

Title: We Can Get Better
Rating/Warnings: Explicit (sex, threesome, full body hug as a form of bondage, hypervigilance after a home invasion)
Length: 6540 words
Author Note: Written for musicspeakstoo. Title is from Get Better by Frank Turner, now permanently associated with Fraction & Aja & Team's Hawkeye for me thanks to this vid. Fic takes place between Clint being in a hospital gown and Clint shooting with Kate at the end of #22. Clint and Kate are the comics versions of themselves, Natasha and Bucky are possibly more MCU or AU. Beta read by [livejournal.com profile] franztastisch, who knows how last minute I am at finishing, and still offers to beta read for me, and makes everything better.
Summary: Hypervigilance is kicking in. Clint wishes he could sleep for a week, but he won’t even manage a full night. He’s gonna be up each time something moves in his peripheral vision. He’s already turned the stupid hearing aids up to the max. He’ll be checking the locks and the boarded up window every hour probably.

Clint thought that everyone left after the Battle of Bed-Stuy, but Natasha's still here and that means the chances of him sleeping tonight have just improved dramatically.

The Valentine's Mini Promptathon over at [livejournal.com profile] be_compromised recently came to an end and I managed to complete a few things before the deadline this year, whoop whoop, so here you go - a new graphic and some new fics:

Title: The Path
Rating/Warning: PG (distressed Clint)
Length: collage graphic
Summary: Clint Barton, in all his messed up glory, joined a monastry in Tibet when he was twenty. Taught love for all beings, he would make a different call.
Author Note: The monastry featured is not actually in Tibet, it's in Bhutan. It's called the Taktshang Tiger's Nest monastry, which 'clings to a cliff 2,300ft about the Paro Valley floor', which seemed appropriate :) The Internet tells me the quotes are Budhist quotes; forgive me if they're not.

Link to image at the promptathon

Title: The Bowling Green Massacre
co-written with [livejournal.com profile] alphaflyer which was a lot of fun!
Rating/Warnings: Teen and up (typical MCU violence and swearing)
Length: 6569 words
Summary: Fallaces sunt rerum species. The truth isn’t all things to all people all of the time.
Authors Note: No cows were harmed in the making of this fic, although we can't say the same of the Brooklyn mafia. The views on protesters, capitalism and politics enunciated herein are strictly those of the characters.

Link to The Bowling Green Massacre on AO3

Title: both threat and promise
Rating/Warnings: Mature (for sex)
Length: 1414 words
Summary: For the prompt: There should be a word for a threat that is also a promise. Because that is what I want you to hold me down and do.

I finished a thing! I love it when I do that :D

Over at the be_compromised 2016 promptathon [livejournal.com profile] sugar_fey prompted ROAD TRIP! and I remembered that I'd started writing a Clint and Natasha post-Avengers road trip way back in the day. But I decided I didn't know America enough to make it into what I wanted, and by that point other people had written theirs and I loved those stories, so this went into the discarded folder. This week I tugged it back out, looked at it sideways, and rewrote it into this.

Title: Driver Choses The Music
Rating/Warnings: PG13 (mild self harm, f-word)
Length: 2000 words
Author Note: first posted here at the [livejournal.com profile] be_compromised promptathon for [livejournal.com profile] sugar_fey's prompt ROAD TRIP!
Summary: Clint shoves his bag in the trunk of the car – a standard, bland SHIELD undercover ride – and doesn’t ask how Nat acquired the keys. Doesn’t ask how, or even if, she’s gotten permission to take him off base, doesn’t ask what’s in the bag she shoved in his arms on their way out, doesn’t ask what they’re doing in a SHIELD garage at ass o’clock in the morning. Doesn’t care.

I wrote a thing! For the franzi's and gecko's friends write for each other exchange. In which I attempted to write something post-Civil War and ended up writing post-Infinity War Civil War recovery fic. With a baby alien tree. Oh, and it ended up being far longer than I thought it would be. So that happened *grins*. Link to fic below and I recommend checking out the other fics in the exchange - some good stuff! My gift was we shall find a pleasure (in the dimness of the stars) by [livejournal.com profile] findthesea - an AU with Clint and Natasha as kids :D

Title: ten times as long (to put yourselves back together)
Rating/Warnings: PG13 (f-word level swearing, underage drinking - by a baby alien tree)
Length: 9350 words
Author Note: written for [livejournal.com profile] alphaflyer, beta read by the ever-encouraging [livejournal.com profile] franztastisch
Summary: “So, what you’re telling me is that this is a completely unknown form of plant and you’re worried because maybe aliens left it here or something?”
The plant blinks open wide eyes and wood cracks into a toothless smile of sleepy pleasure.
“Okay,” says Tony slowly. “Okay. So. Alien tree.”

So my meta for Captain America: Civil War is still percolating, but I should be seeing it again tomorrow night after work and that might help. In the meantime, I have committed fic - canon fic even *gasp*. Which, be warned, contains spoilers and doesn't make any sense if you haven't watched the film yet. Enjoy!

Title: maybe not soon
Rating/Warning: PG13 (f-word)
Length: 1656 words
Summary: They’ll see each other again, just maybe not soon. (Extra-extra post-credit scenes for Captain America: Civil War.)
Author Note: With thanks to [livejournal.com profile] franztastisch for encouragement and a speedy beta read :) Also here on AO3.

I've completed a promptathon fill before the end of promptathon, hell yeah!

Title: should you need us
Rating/Warnings: PG13 (swearing (of the f-word and lord’s name in vain variety), verbal child abuse with implied off-screen neglect and possible physical child abuse)
Length: 5282 words
Summary: “I wish the goblins would come and take you away. Right now.” Fairy Queen Natalia steals Clint away, because his brother wished it so.
Author Note: For [livejournal.com profile] scribble_myname’s prompt on the [livejournal.com profile] be_compromised Promptathon 2015: fairy!Natasha steals Clint as her changeling child/little brother/helper or whatever A fairy AU with a touch of the film Labyrinth - title, the odd line, and the labyrinth itself are from the film, but you don’t need to have seen the film to understand this fic :)

On the downside, the update I keep meaning to post hasn't happened yet, but on the plus side that's because fic has taken priority ;) I've written two in the past couple of weeks, both around 5000 words and both for the AU Exchange on [livejournal.com profile] be_compromised. The Masterlist is here and what i've read so far is seriously fantastic stuff. My gift was a wonderful apocalyptic AU with gorgeous writing and hope and I love it to pieces:

take the sky from me by [livejournal.com profile] sweetwatersong (PG13)
Summary: The end came as an announcement, a promise, a future of burning worlds and expanding stars. The end came and there wasn't enough room to save all of them, weren't enough ships to bring everyone beyond the reach of a hungry red sun.
But it isn't the end, not quite. Not yet. And there are stars still left in the sky...

The first of the fics I wrote... )

Palindromes
by [livejournal.com profile] inkvoices for [livejournal.com profile] sandrasfisher
Rating/Warnings: Explicit sexy times, f-word swearing, mind games and brainwashing, assassins are assassins, (canon) age difference, off-screen in the past children handcuffed and made to shoot people
Summary: Isn’t it the same story whichever way you spin it? Tell me again, from the beginning.
Natasha Romanoff, born in America in January of 1971, doesn’t kill the kid who at some point came to be known as Clint Barton, born thirteen years after her in Russia. Instead she brings him in to SHIELD.
Author Notes: Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] franztastisch for (very speedy) beta reading and encouraging me to meet the Monday posting challenge.

LJ|AO3
“Tell me, from the beginning.”
“I have told you. And I’ve told you that I’m probably telling it wrong.”

A bit about the second fic... )

these are the days
by [livejournal.com profile] inkvoices for [livejournal.com profile] krilymcc
Rating/Warnings: PG13; part one may be triggering for money issues or social anxiety
Summary: Natasha came to Dunelm University with a plan. This plan did not include a roommate with no respect for privacy, an Olympic archer and his pizza stealing dog, or taking part in any crazy student fundraising.
Otherwise entitled: how Natasha survives her first year at university and learns not to let her degree get in the way of her education.
Author Notes: This is a UK AU, because ‘write what you know’, and universities in the UK don’t have mixed gender rooms (although they do have mixed gender halls of residence or colleges), so Hawkeye is not Natasha’s roommate. The other Hawkeye is ;) I hope this meets with your approval.
HUGE thanks to franztastisch, Dunelm’s Professor of Beta Reading and President of the Cheerleading Society.
Disclaimer: The university in this fic has an uncanny resemblance to a certain university in the North East of England. (The quote don’t let your degree get in the way of your education comes from an ex-Chancellor.) No affiliation or offence is intended. That said, this is work of fiction, so also I made a lot of stuff up ;)

This is not the Age of Ultron fic you're looking for ;p This is the continuation of me writing demon AU fills for Valentine's prompts, because, hey, it's only May. This isn't all that bad timing for me!

Title: an eye for an eye (also on AO3)
Rating/Warnings: PG13 (off-screen multilation of dead bodies, sometimes Clint kills people for a living, this demon wants to eat dead people, swearing, and Clint rambing whilst on drugs - for medical reasons)
Length: 4515 words
Summary: In which a red-haired demon follows Clint home, but he takes a while to catch on.
Author Note: Sequel to The Summoning. Written for this prompt from [livejournal.com profile] scribble_myname in the [livejournal.com profile] be_compromised 2015 Valentine's Mini Promptathon. With thanks to [livejournal.com profile] franztastisch for beta-reading this into better-ness :)
This is a mix of a lot of things – MCU, Fraction & Aja’s Hawkeye, and my portrayal of Stephen Strange is the MCU version that you haven’t met yet and will most likely be jossed ;) Remember: it’s not cannibalism if you’re eating a different species and the author takes no responsibility for anyone practicing demonic arts (even if acting on information provided by Strange).

The reveals are up for the MCU Ladies Fic Exchange and there are some wonderful things! I can't read the Peggy Carter ones because I'm trying to avoid spoilers, but Marvelous Ladies fic! My gift is Tromsø by pentapus which is a where Jane and Darcy went during the Avengers fic that is full of amusing twists of phrase, has a fun narrative voice, and reads like a creepy ghost story.

I tried to write a fic which had both Natasha and Peggy in for my giftee. I had thinky thoughts about how people, but especially women, are viewed and constructed by others and themselves and I didn't manage to pin that down on paper, and it ended up being a Natasha focus fic. Maybe these are thinky thoughts I'll come back to again.

Title: act like you know everything (originally on AO3)
Rating/Warnings: PG13 (f-word, identity issues)
Length: 1523 words
Summary: There was a bunker in New Jersey with three photographs and Natasha had asked, "Who's the girl?" It's been playing on her mind.
Author Note: Written for interestinggin in the MCU Ladies Fic Exchange, who asked for Peggy Carter and Natasha Romanova in a fic together. The quote in the fourth paragraph is from Suzanne Collin’s Mockingjay.

So was that a research moment or a remembering moment? )

'You could just do some short Valentine's promptathon fills,' says [livejournal.com profile] franztastisch. 'Just 500 words. Come on, just some small fills.' HA. Have part one of a series of three interconnected prompt fills feauting Natasha as a demon for the latest [livejournal.com profile] be_compromised promptathon. (Late, as ever.)

Title: The Summoning (also on AO3)
Rating/Warnings: PG13 (f-word, talk of murder, actual murder, this demon wants to eat dead people)
Length: 2312 words
Summary: Clint accidentally summons a red-haired demon from the Fourth Level of Hell - and she's pretty pissed off.
Author Note: Written for this prompt from [livejournal.com profile] sweetwatersong in the [livejournal.com profile] be_compromised 2015 Valentine's Mini Promptathon. I’ve interpreted the levels of Hell as Dante’s circles of hell, this is your friendly reminder that it’s not cannibalism if you’re eating a different species, and the author takes no responsibility for any attempts at demon summoning using the instructions contained in this fic. (Especially if it works.)

The electricity being out when Clint finally gets back to his apartment is just another shitty thing to happen in his long, shitty day )

Title: and sometimes when you fall, you fly (also on AO3)
Rating/Warnings: R (sex, f-word)
Length: 5,950 words
Summary: “If you could choose – if you’d had the choice – would you have gone with Steve?" Clint asks Peggy Carter, a question that she of all people might be able to answer and one that he hates to ask.
For this prompt for [livejournal.com profile] scribble_myname in the 2014 [livejournal.com profile] be_compromised promptathon: Clint was a time travel operative [for a future version of SHIELD/any other organization from a different time] who fell in love with Natasha while on a mission and chose to stay in the MCU timeline with her. Every day, he can feel the tug of the timeline to get him back to where he belongs and chooses to stay.
Author Note: With thanks to [livejournal.com profile] franztastisch for beta reading this into making more sense! Title is a quote from The Sandman: Fables and Reflections by Neil Gaiman, as per the cut text.

You know what happens when you dream of falling? Sometimes you wake up. Sometimes the fall kills you. And sometimes, when you fall, you fly. )

Well that's the [livejournal.com profile] be_compromised secret santa gift exchange done and dusted for another year. Now I can dive out of the organisational bubble and into the reading one! The masterlist is full of very tempting fics.

My gift is the fantastic technicality by [livejournal.com profile] sweetwatersong (PG): There is snow on the ground, snow against the windows, and in a library on a long winter's night she finds the life that has led to a ledger. It's a LIBRARY AU with supernatural/mystical elements and deaf!Clint and amazing writing and I absolutely love it!

I wrote the highest state of friendship for [livejournal.com profile] _samalander (or on AO3) (PG13): A futuristic space AU in which bounty hunters Natasha and Clint aren’t married. Actually they’re supposed to be hunting each other. Also with deaf!Clint, and some messing with tropes.

My fic clocked in at nearly big bang legth, erm, ooops? What is it about the [livejournal.com profile] be_compromised secret santa exchanges that make me write loooooong things? I guess the prompts and writing excitement atmosphere are just that damn good :D Also [livejournal.com profile] frea_o made the perfect banner, squee!

Title: now that I have your attention
Fic I've Chosen To Remix (please include link): Miss Fisher's Murder Mystery AU
Rating/warnings: PG13 for a dead body, Natasha does not do nice things for a living (nothing is graphic or on screen)
Summary: Detective Inspector Barton is not surprised to find Natasha Romanoff in the vicinity of a corpse. Not even a corpse in the underbelly of the space station and her in a ball gown.
Author's Note: Written for the [livejournal.com profile] be_compromised 2014 Remix Exchange. [livejournal.com profile] frea_o challenged me to write an AU of an AU and when I got the lovely [livejournal.com profile] hufflepuffsneak in this remix I had plenty of AUs to choose from! I ended up going through many versions of this, from a dystopian space ship searching for new worlds to a steampunk space station, and this is where I ended up. Hopefully I did justice to their excellent peaks through the window into alternate worlds. Thanks go to [livejournal.com profile] franztastisch and [livejournal.com profile] alphaflyer for cheerleading and [livejournal.com profile] sugar_fey for organizational awesome. (Also here on AO3)

When was the last time I actually finished a fic? Last July? Well thank you [livejournal.com profile] be_compromised Valentine's Mini-Promptathon 2014 because I just wrote and finished (!!!) three fics tonight. They're short, but damn it's good to be writing again, and actually finishing things.

FIC: Love Is
Rating/Warnings: PG13; for trust issues, darkish thoughts
Prompt: from [livejournal.com profile] franztastisch Whisper a dangerous secret to someone you care about. Now they have the power to destroy you, but they won’t. This is what love is. [Welcome to Night Vale]

This is what love is )

FIC: Eyes Wide
Rating/Warnings: R for swearing, sex, undetailed reference to flash backs and sex as a tool
Prompt: from [livejournal.com profile] shenshen77 How does their lovemaking change when Clint loses his hearing? Or does it change at all? Maybe he has been deaf all along but Natasha didn't know. How does it affect their affections when she finds out?
Author Note: um, I also kind of filled my own prompt of He likes to look (to see that it’s her). She likes to be touched (to know that it’s him). Oops.

He likes to see her, and that doesn’t just mean watching )

FIC: got your back (you can finally fight the hurricane)
Rating/Warnings: PG13; Clint had a bad childhood, trouble sleeping
Prompt: from [Unknown site tag] The problem with watching movies together is that Clint falls asleep. Every freaking time.
Author Note: SPOILERS for Pacific Rim (but not the ending). Pre Clint/Natasha (because Natasha isn’t there yet. I blame the new Black Widow comics for this turn of events)

Clint’s arm is warm around her shoulders and Natasha snuggles closer )

So [livejournal.com profile] franztastisch asked for this: AU: Ink kink. Biker gang, tattoo parlour owners, I don't care. Just... ink kink please. Please? And I started writing a biker AU that has very little to do with tattoos whatsoever. Fail. So I put that to one side for now and thought I'd start writing another fill, in which Clint owns a tattoo studio and designs tattoos. And it turned into this. Which is a dystopian future type AU where there isn't really much ink kink either *sigh*. I'll just sit here and blame the fact that I have a phobia of needles.

Title: history is what you've travelled on and take with you
Rating/Warnings: R (for disturbing themes, slavery, nudity, an f-word)
Length: 2,625 words
Summary: There’s a woman with a red hourglass on her cheek who visits Clint’s tattoo studio as she reclaims her skin and herself. A dystopian future type AU.
Author Note: Originally posted here for [livejournal.com profile] be_compromised's 2013 Promptathon.

There's a red hourglass on her left cheek, crudely done: just two triangles, one pointing down and the other up and the pair of them meeting in the middle )
