Our lists overlap to a surprisingly large degree, although when it comes to Twilight, I never made it past the spine....

The book on that list that I would pick to have most changed my life is "To Kill a Mockingbird". It is, in my view, The Perfect Book. In every possible way.

The one I am most glad NOT to see on that list is "Lord of the Flies". My kidlet just had to read it for school (has NOTHING else come up in the decades since I had to do the same thing?? I mean, seriously???) She spent a sleepless night because she kept seeing the deaths of Piggy and Simon playing out behind closed eyelids. Gah.

After I read Twlight I went looking for people to laugh at it with me because I thought it was meant to be a parody, ha. I have read all the books though so I can critque *grins*.

I can never pick favourites or ones that had the most impact on me. I think a lot of books changed me in different ways. I remember that To Kill A Mockingbird was one a friend of mine was reading in their English class when we were stuck with something boring I'd read before and I was jealous, so I borrowed it off him.

We also read this at school! We had to act out a scene and I made a fake cardboard knife with vaseline over painted on blood and cloth strips wrapped around the handle. I think my mum would have preferred nightmares ;) And the lack of female characters really annoyed me.
