I was totally thinking that taking Natasha home overrode the keep the work out of my family bit. I want to see this bit, but yes, I have thinky thoughts about it and it did seem supported by Renner and Whedon that he doesn't consider the Avengers family/close to him and that's why they didn't know about his family. Seems he keeps work out of his family because work is dangerous and duh, that makes so much sense. I really don't think anyone seeing being a loner and having a family as incompatible is one. It just makes sense.
